There are 3 ways to pronounce the -ed of a verb in the past tense:
- id when the last sound of the verb is /d/ or /t/ (ex: started)
- t when the last sound of the verb is /p/, /k/, /f/, /s/, /ch/ or /tch/ (ex: watched)
- d for the rest of the sounds (ex: lived)
Try to pronounce these verbs: wanted, cared, travelled, asked, stopped, demanded, worked, closed, accepted, opened.
